Hello Worl-itch!


Initial commit!

My goal was to create a prototype that I could use to feel the viability of having a single player control two characters simultaneously. 

Interestingly, this thought experiment led to some pretty puzzling mechanics! Each character can be gated by doors that only unlock by a switch that the other character can reach. One character can control platforms that the other can stand on to get to certain areas in the level. They can stand on each other to boost up onto ledges that neither one can jump onto alone. I won't get ahead of myself!

Which brings me to my game's version 0.0.0!

Player movement is prototypically good enough to get a feel for how fun/difficult/strategic/infuriating it can be when managing to control 2 characters at the same time. Level gates and switches are rudimentary but they serve their purpose to block the player from strolling straight through the level. Menus are waaay in their infancy but its enough to convey the essentials of a videogame's user experience.

Give it a shot and let me know what you like/dislike about the dual management responsibility of having two characters to control! As well, I'd like to hear your ideas you may have about what type of mechanics would fit right in with this play style!
